INCREASING THE SPACE/VOLUME FOR /ROOT PARTITION ON MANJARO

So today when I wanted to install a video editor, I failed because I ran out of memory space on /root partition. I have separate partitions just in case i want to change the distro, I can change without a hustle, without affecting my personal files. Below are the steps on how I followed:
1. I created a bootable disk [manjaro]
2. I booted into live mode.
3. Opened gparted
4. Shrinked my home partition (it had more space) got the space i wanted by resizing it.
Note: take note the side where your /root partition is before shrinking.
5. After shrinking I had unallocated space on my left, that's where my /root was, then I increased the /root partition by resizing it. It took some time, about an hour plus to finish.
6. Finally I rebooted and everything was poky without tempering with my grub!.
(I was running manjaro)
